Asserting that it was “unfortunate” to find the rise of Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) “under the garb of defending Zeliangrong interests”, NSCN (I-M) Thursday said ZUF’s actions however failed to reflect such agenda other than “rubbing the NSCN the wrong way.”

In a statement released by its MIP, the NSCN (I-M) said the Haochong incident where they targeted innocent village leaders was a pure reflection of people not approving their deceptive agenda of ZUF.

Claiming in frustration village social leaders were beaten up in the most inhuman manner, NSCN (I-M) said “what else for the ZUF to do but to attack anyone who supported NSCN”.

Stating it was “no strange” how and where they got the supply line for weapons, NSCN (I-M) said Assam Rifles forces made use of such group with “unfailing precision.”
