Students plant trees to make ''Green Kiphire''

Kiphire Town Students’ Union (KTSU) on the theme ‘Green Kiphire’ organized a tree plantation drive in and around Kiphire town.

The drive started at 6am where all the volunteers and officials planted saplings  at roadsides, offices, school institutions and other important places.

Lichumse Sangtam, president, Kiphire District Nursery and Farmers Society (KDNFS) who planted the first sapling at Police Point Kiphire lauded KTSU officials for their initiative since Kiphire was also experiencing the effects of global warming.
Lichumse who was accompanied by his colleague also donated Rs.5000/- to KTSU.

Different varieties of ornamental saplings were provided by DPO land resources and development office Kiphire.
Meanwhile, Arola S.Sangtam President of Kiphire Town Students’ Union expressed gratitude to district administration, Kiphire Town Council for the financial help and DPO, LRD Kiphire for donating saplings during the plantation drive.
