Kyong Youth Initiative, a Wokha-based advocacy organization has expressed concern about the roads that have developed potholes in Wokha district.

A release issued by Media Cell, Kyong Youth Initiative stated, “Wokha is not anymore a town where one could cross the road at will, as traffic congestion seems to explode in matter of days”.

Observing that the “longest stretch” of road devoid of potholes is barely 10 meters, Kyong Youth Initiative said one has to “maneuver employing the best skill one possess on the wheels, on the first two gears”.

“Taking general public into concern, it is a matter of two things, ignorance, or rather patience. For instance, the only road that connects the District Mhondamo Memorial hospital, the pathetic skill- demanding road connecting the SP office, the thrilling road up the deputy commissioner’s office the rivulet-road leading to the two colleges inviting government attention”, stated Kyong Youth Initiative.

Kyong Youth Initiative  therefore has appealed to all Lothas to wake up from the “extended slumber and have a conscious look on the roads they trod upon”.

Kyong Youth Initiative  further added, “Blame game seldom helps, where neighboring districts appreciate the inns for the wayfarer but abuse the roads that bring them over the dishes. Who is responsible?”
