One-day programme on demonstration of farm implements to custom hiring committee under NICRA project in Dimapur district, Nagaland was organised on July 24 at Dhansiripar village of KVK Dimapur.

The programme was held with the objective to handover the farm implements like wheel hoe, cono-weeder, adjustable row-marker, Knapsack sprayer, power sprayer, foot sprayer, power tiller, power thresher, SRI marker, sprinkler system with water pump, maize sheller to be utilized under custom hiring for the project.

The programme started with invocation by head G.B.
Dr. Anamika Sharma, Programme coordinator, KVK Dimapur highlighted the importance of farm machinery, demonstrated under the project.

Main objective of the project was to sustain agricultural activities by conservation of natural resources viz., rain water harvesting, conservation of soil moisture in the context to changing climatic scenario i.e. deficient and undistributed rain fall pattern.

 The head G.B. Dhansiripar also requested the farmers to support whole heartedly to custom hiring committee.

A press note issued by programme coordinator stated that the custom hiring committee comprised of six members which include VDB members, members from Maibairam farmers club and interested farmers and the rate would be decided by them.

This way the funds would be generated for maintenance of farm implements, stated the press note. Most of farmers were really happy after the demonstration of sprinkler set as moisture stress was major issue in this village.  A total of 50 farmers participated in the programme.
