All Nagaland Field Staff Association (ANFSA) — PHED — has served a fresh ultimatum on the state government, demanding the government to fulfill its long-pending demands latest by August 22.
ANFSA is demanding that government regularize the work charge employees who had already completed 15 years and above in PHED.
In a representation to the principal secretary & chairman of the commission, work charged & contingent employees, ANFSA acting president B. Among Chang and general secretary Tsholo Ritse cautioned that noncompliance with their demands within the given deadline, the association would be compelled to resort to “tools down strike” with effect from August 23 and government would be held solely responsible for any untoward incidents that may arise in the course of agitation.
ANFSA reminded the government of its earlier memorandum dated Feb 14, 2012, and subsequent meeting at minister’s chamber, wherein an assurance was given that demand would be initiated soon. However, ANFSA said till date nothing has been materialized.
Besides, the association also asserted that work charge employees were not getting their salaries for the last five months, which it said was in contravention with the Supreme Court observation.
In Nagaland, the ANFSA however said it was just the reverse as the work charge employees were to put to work but their salaries not paid.
Moreover, according to ANFSA many worked charge employees had attained the age of superannuation without having their service regularized. Therefore, the association urged government to seriously examine the matter, acting in conjunction with the concept of modern welfare state.
