Problem of fund implementing still persists, says Torechu

Parliamentary Secretary, CAWD &Chairman DPDB, Kiphire T. Torechu expressed satisfaction on the fund received both from central and the state government to elevate the people of the district from “the backwardness”.

However, Torechu said the problem of implementing the fund still persisted.
He was speaking at the Kiphire district planning & development board (DPDB) meeting held on July 10.
In spite the apprehension by certain section of the people that district was deprived of developmental activities, Torechu asserted that fund was received from various angles.

“However, the mentality of the people to hoard money without works hampers the developmental works in the district,” Torechu said.

He called upon board members to educate the public to work sincerely to produce quality of workmanship on the developmental front.

“Otherwise, Kiphire district will remain as it is and will never progress,” Torechu said. In this connection, both the chairman and the deputy commissioner directed the members not to issue completion certificate or release money without satisfactory completion of works.

Up-gradation of Kiusam EAC HQ to that of SDO (Civil) was deliberated at length. Board directed EAC, Kiusamto verify and submit the report in the next meeting for further discussion.

The house recommended construction of helipad at Amahator and directed administrative officers of Pungro, Kiusam and Khongsa to submit proposal for construction of helipads in these administrative headquarters.

The house also decided to shift the present dumping site to a new location as it was affecting the road condition, for which fund will be allocated from LADP Common Pool2012-13.

Board approved the proposals of BRGF 2011-12 under Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Phase-II for Kiphire district as proposed by the Project Director, DRDA.

The House also resolved to write to Executive Engineer (R&B), Kiphire for urgent repair/renovation of wooden bridge between Salumi-Khonjiri as this was the only link road for the people of Khongsa administrative circle with district headquarters where NST department was providing a regular bus services.

Board directed district sports officer (DSO), Kiphire to ascertain the facts and figures from directorate of youth services & sports regarding the construction of Indoor Stadium where only pillars were standing for the past many years.

DC informed that work distribution and assignments for Independence Day would be the same as that of Republic Day.
