The stage is set for Tsüngremmong Tribal Festival cum Youth Expo 2012 on August 1 and 2 at Mokokchung to be held on the theme “Anvil of culture”.

The two-day event initiated by the Ao Senden would witness a varied form of cultural activity that include cultural performances from Eastern Naga Students’ Federation, Chakesang Cultural Organization besides unions from Sumi and Lotha of Mokokchung and various ranges and students’ body of the district.

The inaugural event would be graced by Imkong L Imchen, home minister Nagaland as chief guest and the second day of the festival would be graced by Lalthara IAS, chief secretary Nagaland as chief guest.

Day II of the tribal festival will also witness Tsükong (range-wise) cultural competition on Jangtok Jaja (Stilt Walking), Ang Aienba (yarn spinning) and Mezüng Kangtep (top spinning). Besides presentation of various folk dance and songs, there would also be an entertainment dubbed Ethnic Haute Couture cum musical extravaganza.

The Youth Expo 2012 organized by Mokokchung Entrepreneurs Consortium under the theme “Youth Resurgence” at Multi-purpose Hall, Imkongmeren Sports Complex would be inaugurated by the chief guest right after the inaugural program of the tribal festival.

The expo will showcase Mokokchung’s entrepreneurs and SHGs (supported by Watsü Mungdang), musical show, talk show etc., at the youth expo.

A workshop on self-employment and entrepreneurship will be held with Hekani Jakhalu, Abokali Jimomi and Lezo Putsure as resource persons. Besides these, there will be musical shows featuring young musical talents of Mokokchung, talk show on entrepreneurship and Inter-Higher Secondary School competition on Entrepreneurship.

A “Handbook of Entrepreneurship in Mokokchung” published by Mokokchung Entrepreneurs Consortium will be released by home minister Imkong L Imchen.

The handbook comprises about 30 young entrepreneurs of Mokokchung who would be show casing their businesses and will be circulated free of cost to visitors of the expo.

Further, there will be draw of lots for all visitors and free tickets for the lucky draw will be distributed to every visitor stepping into the Youth Expo venue. Three prizes to be won include: a guitar with case and two mobile phones.
