After Dimapur and Zunheboto’s “Mission Pothole” it was Kohima’s turn with about 150 bloggers participating in the ‘Mission Pothole’ Kohima chapter from Razhü Point to PR HIll PHQ junction Tuesday.

The bloggers were also joined by some public in the afternoon as they marched from Razhü Point to PR HIll PHQ junction, planting paddy sapling on the way and fishing as a symbolic protest againts the poor road condition in the capital as well as the state.

As they sang, “We shall overcome”.. “Rasta bishi biya huishe....dhan kheti bunai dibo..” as well as carried placards that read: Nagaland land of potholes, The real roadshow starts here, drive slow fishes inside, Nagaland Roads- darr ke aage potholes hai, we Nagas love offroading, jingle bells jingle bells potholes all the way...etc., some curious bystanders joined in the campaign and passengers in cars and buses were seen waving and clapping to express their appreciation.

The campaign was ignited by a blogger on Facebook who posted a picture of people sowing paddy on potholes on the road.

The Naga Blog took cue from the picture and thereafter carried out a similar initiative in Dimapur and Zunheboto. Bloggers intend to conduct similar campaign in all the district headquarters of the state.

Meanwhile DD Northeast will hold a live panel discussion on “condition of roads in Nagaland” on its regular weekly programme Trends of Nagaland on Saturday at 2pm.
