A new ward for admission and treatment of TB patients was inaugurated at Mon District Hospital on Tuesday in the presence of CMO, DTO, Project Coordinator, Hospital Manager, Dy. Hospital Manager, Nurses, medical staff and community representatives.

TB constitutes a major health problem in the district which largely is undetected due to lack of awareness of the disease and limited accessibility to care services, stated district hospital management committee.

The inauguration of the new ward will facilitate timely assistance and care as well as awareness creation.
A wing of the hospital has been renovated with separate male and female isolation wards.

With the detection of Multi Drug Resistant strains in the district, this initiative of the hospital management is a huge step forward for the district in the fight against TB.
