Agriculture department and ATMA Wokha jointly organized a training on agriculture and livestock production with shaying Sheu, EAC Sungro, Wokha as the chief guest on August 4 at Sungro village.

Speaking at the function, Sheu urged farmers to interact with experts to gain more knowledge taking advantage of the technical support given by agri and allied departments.

He also encouraged women farmers to take active participation in the training programmes conducted by the departments since they are more involved in all the agricultural works as compared to men.

Resource persons owere Khumdemo Ezung, PC (i/c) KVK, Wokha, E. Lireni Kikon, Programme Assistant (Plant Protection), KVK: Wokha, Dr. H. Moa, SMS (Animal Science), KVK, Wokha and Megokhono Meyase, SMS (Horticulture), KVK, Wokha who trained the farmers on topics such as system of rice intensification (SRI), integrated pest management on rice, scope for piggery farming and rejuvenation practices on citrus respectively. Altogether 80 farmers and 12 officials from agriculture department, ATMA and KVK Wokha attended the training programme.
