During the picketing, volunteers from DDCC anti-corruption cell/vigilance and party workers locked the office of electrical offices in Chumukedima, Burma Camp, Nagarjan, PWD and Industrial Estate Colony and also placed protest placards in front of the gates.
According to DDCC president Kughato S. Aye and anti-corruption cell member Kevishel Viswentso, electrical offices remained closed till 11 a.m. and it was only after an assurance from the department the offices functioned smoothly.
DDCC president told media persons at his office chamber that a meeting was held in Chumukedima in the presence of executive engineers of Chumukedima and Dimapur, SDOs under electrical department, DC and SDO (C) Dimapur, where the power department have assured to look into the matter at the earliest.

The ultimatum jointly signed by DDCC president, Kughato S. Aye and anti-corruption cell convener H. Kisheto Chishi has demanded reduction of electric bills during the load shedding period, starting from July be reduced to 60 percent below the minimum normal bill.
It has also demanded arrangement of spare transformer, deployment of more man-power, infrastructure for field staff so to meet public grievances and complaints at the earliest possible time.
DDCC president further said if the department failed to meet the demands, the DDCC and its anti-corruption cell would be forced to lock the executive engineer’s office and all the billing counters in Dimapur.
Meanwhile, DDCC president said that that a 10 MW transformer from Mokokchung which was to be transported to Dimapur to meet the load shedding/power crisis was likely to reach Friday.
DDCC and anti-corruption cell/vigilance have also thanked the GBs, chairmen of colonies, party workers and well wishers for extending their cooperation during the peaceful picketing.
Load shedding woes continue in Dimapur
To manage the ongoing power crisis and load shedding in Dimapur, the power department had to put affected colonies into six groups and further divided them into two bigger groups.
Based on information (document) available with Nagaland Post, the two-hour imposition of continuous load shedding in each of the two groups did not mean that there would be just two hour load shedding in 24 hours.
In fact, each of the two bigger groups would be experiencing a total load shedding of 12 hours each in 24 hours alternated between the two groups every two hours. (See Tables)
Power department had said the arrangement was subject to change/modification as per real-time power availability and local conditions/interruptions.
