Kiphire’s 1st pipers band enthralls Kisetong village

Kiphire district’s first ever pipers band with full equipment was installed at Kisetong village on Friday. This band is part of 35 village guard (VG) members belonging to the village. Installation programme was held with a grand celebration attended by all villagers, neighbouring villages and some officials from village guard office Kiphire.

Muricho Sangtam, Subedar Major VG Kiphire hoisted the flag and said the pipers band was a blessing not only to Kisetong village but for the district in general.

He also said the sound of pipers will not only fascinate the people but would be an echo for peace to the district.
With the induction of the pipers band, more relationship will be built even in the state, he opined.

Others who spoke at the programme were Thsithrise, President, Suro Pumji Kisetong Village and Vikato Hd.GB Phisami village.

There was a variety of display by the pipers band today at the programme chaired by Tsilise Sangtam, welcome address was proposed by L. Chumpise 2nd GB Kisetong.

It may be mentioned that village guard underwent more than 6 months training at their village imparted by Suresh Chandra Tamda a professional instructor from SSB hailing from UP state.

All the expenses such as hiring of trainer, buying of equipment, and foods were borne by Kisetong village council in order to promote the village guard pipers band.

Kisetong village guard pipers band would be leading the march pass contingent during the forthcoming Independence Day at Kiphire town.
