A new building of the directorate of higher education and the newly constructed gate were inaugurated by Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, minister, urban development and higher and technical education, on August 17 in the presence of F.P. Solo, commissioner and secretary, higher and technical education.

The chief guest in his speech said today the department has become the proud owner of the building and was pleased to note that the department did not invite criticisms from any corner.

He was also happy with the department both at the secretariat and directorate levels for the team spirit among the staff at the same time appreciated the department, the contractors and the engineers for completing the work on time and at a reasonable cost.

In his introductory remark, commissioner and secretary, F.P. Solo said the new building was a “smart building” and likely encouraged the staff to be smart in their work.
The solar home lighting system with a capacity of 5 KV which was installed by the directorate of new and renewable energy, Kohima, was also inaugurated by Alemtemshi Jamir, additional chief secretary and development commissioner.

Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, also graced the occasion as chief guest.
The programme was chaired by F.P. Solo, commissioner and secretary, higher & technical education, Rev. Moa Longchari, pastor, BMC, pronounced the dedicatory prayer while felicitation was conducted by Chubainla Jamir, director, higher education.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Lanutola, additional director, higher education.
