Expressing concern over the prevailing situation in major cities following threats to northeast people, Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF), had a meeting August 18 with various leaders from the Muslim community of Dimapur, and decided to send a goodwill mission to the affected areas and apprise the situation to various government officials, Muslim organisations, NGOs, student leaders and civil society leaders of the affected areas.

In a press release, forum president Hokiye Yepthomi and general secretary I.Temjen Jamir said the goodwill mission would comprise of four members and would leave for the mission immediately.

DDCF also appealed to all the citizens of the state in particular and northeast states in general to maintain peaceful coexistence and restrain from any form of violent retaliation.
