TAPU union Doyang ban use of dynamites, chemicals, trap

TAPU union (Doyang) consisting of six villages including Kitami, Asukiqa, puneboqa, Ustomi, Zhevishe and Saptiqa elected new office bearers and decided to impose ban on use of dynamites, chemicals and traps for fishing within its jurisdiction between Ngai Ghoki and Azu Khughu.

This decision was taken on August 18 meeting at Doyang River whereby, the union decided to totally ban use of dynamites, chemicals and traps (phasi jall and other traps) in its jurisdiction with immediate effect. 

Union also decided to impose a fine of Rs.50,000/- for using chemicals, Rs. 20,000/- for anyone caught using dynamites and traps.

During the meeting, the union elected the following as new office bearers for the tenure 2012 to 2015 to be headed by Atoshe G.B Ustomi as president and Lutovi VDB secretary as general secretary. 

The union also declared that all presidents of the local students’ union, GBs, VCC, VCM of the six neighbouring villages would remain as executive members of the union.
