GPRN/NSCN has asked NSCN (K) to stop using Nagas in Myanmar as “porters” and forced labourers and stated that Nagas have been forced to carry “baggage” for several armed groups from Manipur and Assam without payment under alleged directive of chairman Khaplang.

In a statement, GPRN/NSCN MIP said that with the signing of the cease-fire between Nagas and the Myanmarese government, the Nagas who were made to live as second class citizens have got an opportunity to catch up with the outside world ending decades old conflict.

While the Nagas in Myanmar regained hope and concretize their aspiration following the “giant-leap of transitional visibility” in democratic system, GPRN/NSCN alleged that they have been “enslaved and discriminated inhumanly to serve as porters” and accused NSCN (K) of sheltering Northeast armed groups by giving “safe haven” at the cost of “blood and tears” of innocent Nagas.

GPRN/NSCN also said that Nagas living in Myanmar come to Nagaland for education and alleged that Khaplang’s directive restricting the movement of Nagas towards western Nagaland even for the purpose of education was completely “illogical”.

MIP said that Konyak people of Honyat, Thruilo, Yenching, Wanya and Khamoi (Loji) and surrounding villages have experienced “untold miseries” and added that Nagas should be “left free from forced labours” and the “acts of slavery upon Nagas”.

very strange that the same group who murdered hundreds of villagers in burma/eastern nagalnad in the 80s in cold blood, are asking for freedom from slavery of the same people? and we all thought that it was the Brumas army who used the villagers as porter and as sex slaves. least the GPRN/NSCN forget that the cry of the eastern naga is " MI have eaten our fathers" do tigers change their spots?
