DPDB meetings deliberate on development issues

Longleng: Longleng district planning and development board (DPDB) meeting was held on September 6 at the conference hall of deputy commissioner, Longleng. Chairman DPDB and parliamentary secretary for RD & REPA, S. Pangnyu Phom presided over the meeting.

Pangnyu said DPDB should not be taken lightly because no proposal without the approval of DPDB can be considered by the government.

Some of the agendas discussed at the meeting were- black topping of public road from Longleng town to St. Joseph High School, posting of staff under CAWD, survey of site for 6 NAP Longleng, renovation of approach road to DC and SP bungalow.

Assistant commandant VG, gave paper presentation on the department’s activities where he explained on different duties and responsibilities performed by village guards.

DC also informed that land settlement board would sit very soon and allotment would be done.
DC has therefore informed the departments that have applied for site allotment to be aware of it.
Executive secretary PBCA also informed the board that celebration of NBCC triennial convention would be held on January 17 to 20 to be hosted by PBCA at Longleng.

Phek: Phek DPDB meeting was held at DPDB conference hall on September 10 with parliamentary secretary for social welfare and chairman DPDB, Phek.

Chotisuh Sazo chaired the meeting and was attended by minister for health & family welfare, Kuzholuzo Nienu, parliamentary secretary for Tourism, Yitachu, deputy chairman, state planning board, Neiba Kronu and advisor, NRE, science & technolgy, Deo Nukhu.

Sazo in his introductory remark called on the members to take DPDB meeting seriously as well as to contribute constructive ideas and suggestions in order to uplift the prestige and image of the district.

He added saying that the DPDB members were the cream of the society for which they should not only perform their assign duties but to have more interaction with the public to enhance moral and social values.

He also called on the departmental officers to submit five year road map/action plan for their implementation and future course of action and also called on the agri & allied departments to help farmers wherever possible, and at the same time, stressed on the importance of crop zoning so that any project that is undertaken would be beneficial to the farmers.

Azo Nienu, called on the DPDB members to be sincere while discharging their duties. He said for taking up any developmental project in the district, officers concerned should consult their respective representative/MLA for implementation.

Deo Nukhu called on the members to take it as a privilege as well as a challenge to be posted in Phek and to give their best so that their good deeds would be remembered by the public.

Yitachu called on the members to co-operate and co-ordinate with the tribal hohos in order to showcase its rich culture and tradition in the upcoming tribal-cum-youth festival which is to be held in October and November in the district.

Neiba Kronu stressed on the importance of dignity of labour, adding, the value of work culture should be practiced by one and all.
Other agendas discussed in the meeting included implementation of Rastriya Krishi Vikash Yojana (RKVY) scheme in Pfutsero, agriculture department was asked to co-ordinate with horticulture department and to forward for discussion and approval to the DPDB in the next meeting.

Grant in aid to Christian Home High School was recommended by the board, implementing committees for LADP, 2012-13 were constituted for all the five assembly constituencies of the district.

The board agreed to hold a tribal festival-cum- youth expo at Pfütsero on November 15 coinciding with the Rünye festival of Khezhas and Türhünye festival of Chokris.

Further the board approved and recommended for upgradation of Government Primary School, Phola Bawe to Government Middle School level. Earlier, a power point presentation on departmental activities were presented by BDOs of RD Block Kikruma and Phek.

Wokha: The monthly DPDB meeting of Wokha district was also held on September 10 at D.C’s conference hall, under the chairmanship of Dr. Chumben Murry, minister of agriculture.

The meeting began with report of the network for protection and conservation of Mt. Tiyi forest and wildlife by K.R. Murry, advisor cum treasurer.

He also requested the board to extend co-operation in the interest of wokha district.  In the course of deliberation, DFO Wokha highlighted the departmental activities and informed that the department was trying to bring Mt. Tiyi under bio-diversity programme.

President of Wokha District G.Bs Association, Mhonchan, proposed for a conference hall for the G.Bs at Wokha town for which the board directed the proposal to be put up for consideration in the next financial year.

Kethosituo Sekhose, SDO (C), Ralan, highlighted the synopsis of Ralan area and proposed a master plan for the headquarter, where the offices of different departments could be housed in the proposed complex for the convenience of the public at large.

Earlier, DC, Wokha, Vyasan R. (IAS) recommended head of offices who have not voluntary contributed towards Bharat Scouts and Guides unit Wokha, to do so.

He also informed the house about the upcoming road show cum Tokhu Emong festival in the first week of November, and further sought cooperation from the department.
