Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, N. Hushili Sema Friday expressed discontentment over the mushrooming of unions, associations in the state, and said it has become more like a “business”.
To this, she said that the association should take care of the consumer’s welfare as they are the stake holders, at the same time added the business community should inculcate honesty so that their business may flourish through consumers’ trust.
She said this while gracing the inaugural programme of East Dimapur Business Association (EDBA) office here at D-Mall Complex, Purana Bazar, Dimapur as chief guest.
While urging the business community of East Dimapur to make their area a living example of Dimapur, Hushili said most of the business communities live under threat from different quarters and therefore urged them to be united and look into the welfare of its community and also work hand in hand with the nodal authorities.
Those present in the programme included Tokheli Kikon, chairperson, Naharbari Village Council (NVC), and host of business communities from the area.
Earlier, the programme which was chaired by Mukibur Rahman, treasurer, EDBA, started with an invocation by Jongpong, pastor, Ao Baptist Church, East Dimapur, welcome speech by Solomon L. Awomi, president, East Dimapur Business Association, short speech by Vihoshe Awomi, chairman, Ad-hoc Town Council, East Dimapur, and vote of thanks by Imlimar Longkumer, general secretary, EDBA.
