Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has decided to withdraw its call for non-cooperation against GPRN/NSCN. The decision followed a meeting of AYO with GPRN/NSCN top leaders Friday.

In a statement, AYO president Khrielievi Chüsi said the organization met GPRN/NSCN leaders led by Azheto Chophy, convenor National Political Advisory Council (NPAC) and “amicably” sorted out the differences that arose out of August 3 incident in which three NSCN (K) cadres were killed in a civilian populated area, Kohima Town. The statement said that after a thorough deliberation, GPRN/NSCN expressed its regret for the incident and the subsequent events which had “hurt the sentiments” of the public. GPRN/NSCN told AYO that it stood for Naga unity and has been trying its best to restrain itself from “bloodshed”, said the statement.

AYO also lauded business community, contractors and suppliers, transporters and citizens of Kohima who have supported and stood by AYO including youth organizations from various colonies in the move to promote peaceful co-existence among Nagas.
