Eastern Nagaland People’s Union, Dimapur would be staging a silent procession at Dimapur on Tuesday (September 25) protesting against the recent rape of a minor girl by one Tinulepden Amer (65) in Duncan Bosti, Dimapur.

In a statement, ENPUD president A. Neangba Konyak said the procession would begin from City Tower junction at 9 a.m. and proceed to district and session judge court, Dimapur where a memorandum would be submitted to the judge. ENPUD president has requested all members of ENPUD, ENSUD, ENWUD, ENPU Chumukedima, ENPU Medziphema, ENPU Diphupar A & B and concerned citizens to assemble at City Tower “without fail”.

The union has also appealed to schools and colleges in Dimapur to grant leave to students of class VIII and above hailing from Eastern Nagaland on the proposed day of the procession.
