Re-affirming the resolution no. 2 made on October 24, 2008 comprising of Village Putu representatives and Ao Senden, the presidential council of the Ao Senden in an emergency meeting held Friday resolved to oppose the proposed protest rally organised by Joint Action Committee (on 33% women reservation) on October 1 next.

Based on the resolution, Ao Senden president Dr. Sangyu Yaden and general secretary Tsupong Longchar stated that the protest rally would not be permitted in Ao areas, “since the reservation policy was against Ao-Naga customs and traditions”.

The Senden further warned any member of the Ao women organisations participating in the rally would be solely held responsible in the event of any consequences.

It further declared that the Ao Senden would take appropriate action against the defaulters.  In this regard, the Ao Senden has informed all respective Ranges, Village and Town Units under Ao Senden to comply with the decision of the apex body.
