Agatha Sangma to grace CYA golden jubilee

Ex-minister of state for rural development Govt. of India, Agatha Sangma would grace the ‘grand finale’ program of Catholic Youth Association (CYA) Christ King Church Kohima golden jubilee celebration on November 10, 11 a.m.
Agatha is scheduled to arrive Dimapur airport on November 9 and leave for Kohima after inaugurating MSW College at Peace Channel office, circular road, Dimapur. She would be visiting Kohima Cathedral, war cemetery and Ketsiezou watch tower, Kohima village on November 10 before gracing the jubilee celebration.
The jubilee would be held from November 10 with the theme “You are light of the world” on November 10 and 11 at Christ King Church Ground Kohima.
Solemn jubilee Eucharist on November 11 at 9 a.m. at Christ King Church Kohima would be celebrated with Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima diocese as the main celebrant.
This was informed at a press conference held on Wednesday organized by CYA Christ King Church Kohima members including Kevitsu Peter president CYA, Keneingutuo Lucas convenor organizing committee CYA Jubilee, Teresa Sote secretary jubilee committee, Er. Medozhazo Matthew member, Mary Sekhose and Kevin Solo member on Wednesday at its office.
Kevitsu Peter said CYA Christ King Church Kohima would be the first to celebrate CYA golden jubilee in the state. He said staring from January 1 this year, the Church has carried out different activities as part of association’s golden jubilee celebration, including gospel tours to sister Churches across Nagaland, charity drive, visit to more than 170 needy people, orphanage homes, workshop, mass social work on environment day, photo gallery exhibition, youth fest volleyball championship etc.
Peter said the highlights of the celebration include photo gallery exhibition for the last 50 years activities, cultural dances from Sema, Chakhesang , Zeliangrong and Kohima village, music extravaganza etc.
The president said they are expecting around 4-5 thousand delegates from different parts of the state and outside the state for the jubilee celebration. The association is also expecting delegates from different denominations.
