Zutovi village celebrates Ahuna festival

People of Zutovi village under Dhansiripar sub-division celebrated Ahuna festival on Friday  with Hokivi Chishi, president, Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries, who is the native of the village, as the chief guest.     

Addressing the villagers, the chief guest said that such festivity was the time for the people to come together so as strengthen the bond of unity among the people.

He was of the view that such was an occasion for the people to do away with all the differences among them and unite, as unity is the only way through which a community or a nation can progress and prosper.

Hokivi pointed out that village elders especially GBs, as customarily practiced in the past should play key role in leading the people not only towards advancement of the village but also for upholding the tradition.

He urged the Sumis to be torch bearers of peace and unity On behalf of all the dignitaries present at the celebration, chief guest donated a sum of Rs. 150,000 towards the village. 

Others dignitaries who were present at the celebration include Tovihoto Aye, former chairman, DMC, Vikheho Zhimomi and Vihuto Yeptho, both former member of DMC, Apong Ao, OC sub-urban PS, Vikato, vice president, Naga Council, Khuwoto, Council chairman, Sematilla, Nikheto, GB New Market, Dimapur, Mughavi Chishi, general secretary, WYSF, S.G. Hollo, cultural secretary, WSH and Kiheto Zhimomi, Lt. Col. GPRN/NSCN.  Vikuto Achumi, head GB of the village and Lutoi Ayemi also spoke on the occasion.

All the villagers participated in the celebration of post-harvest festival. Presentation of various cultural items marked the occasion.
