Union Ministry of Home Affairs relaxes restriction permits for Nagaland

Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has relaxed restriction under the Protected Area Regime, 1958 that covered the entire area of the states of Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram.

According to sources, an MHA notification has relaxed the restriction initially for a period of one year with an exception of the citizens of Afghanistan, China and Pakistan.

Myanmar nationals visiting the states beyond 16 Kms from the Indo-Myanmar border were required to have Protected Area Permit and Restricted Area Permit (PAP/RAP).

Nationals from Afghanistan, China, Pakistan and Myanmar visiting Nagaland need Restricted Area Permit, without which they are not allowed to enter the state. 

All foreigners should register themselves with the Superintendent of Police or Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) on arrival, a release said.

All agencies, department and individuals, who wants to bring foreigners to the state have been requested to follow the said procedural, the sources said.
