Protest over tiger reserve in Karbi Anglong

Demanding immediate cancellation of the proposed tiger reserve project in Duarbagori and Sochengdhenta, NIlip MAC constituencies numbering to around 500 protesters staged a sit-in demonstration infornt of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KACC) session on Friday.
The dharna was led by Mohen Bey ex-E.M. and Benting Terang ex-E.M. The protesters expressed strong criticism at the “sotic silence” of Bhubon Chandra Terang and Rotan Engti the elected representatives of Sochengdhenta and Duarbagori MAC constituencies.
