After assessing the political situation in the state in a meeting, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee’s (NPCC) Political Affairs Committee (PAC) has decided to press for political solution before the next election.

According to a statement issued by NPCC-PAC convener K. Therie, the meeting also appreciated the bold resolutions taken by Congress Legislative Party (CLP) on November 10, 2012 to “resign from their positions” to pave the way for a political solution.

The committee fully endorsed the resolution of the CLP, said the statement adding that the resolution was an expression of their “sincerity” as was committed by all the 60 members in the Assembly.

The PAC meeting reiterated that NPCC considered the loss of 152 arms and 44,550 number of ammunition as a major threat to national security.

While stating that the DAN government’s action was a “conspiracy against nation and the citizens”, the PAC meeting also endorsed the demand of NPCC for a probe into the case by National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The meeting decided to urge the state governor to take appropriate action as was deemed fit and proper. Further, the meeting recommended that a Congress team “urgently” leave for Delhi to appraise the central leaders on issues related to the state.
