SBI settles 1st insurance scheme in Northeast region

As a measure of social responsibility, the State Bank of India (SBI) had settled a claim of Rs. 4 lacs to its beneficiary, Swapna Dey, mother of an accident victim, late Manna Dey, aged about 24 years.

Account holder of SBI Chumukedima Branch, Nagaland under the SBI personal accident insurance scheme of SBI general insurance which was also reported to be the first claim in the northeast region was settled within record time.

SBI officials said this scheme was designed for the saving bank account and current bank account holder of state bank of India at a premium of rupees 100/-  only per year with a accidental death benefit of Rs. 4 lacs.

AGM RBO Dimapur of state bank of India, Biswajit Bhattacharjee, handed over the cheque to the beneficiary who was present with her husband on Wednesday at SBI regional office supermarket Dimapur. Others who were present at the handing over of scheme were Lead Bank chief manager David Kire and SBI staff.
