State NCP celebrates15th foundation day

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Nagaland unit celebrated its 15th foundation day, Monday, at the party’s head office, Kuda Nagarjan, Dimapur.

State unit NCP, president, Neiba Ndang, in his presidential address, said the party would fight the coming parliamentary election with the manifesto of peace, development and progress.

He said in order for the NCP to grow, there was a need to have “solid foundation” within the party adding that the same could be achieved through transparency, loyalty, understanding and by following party ethics.

Ndang then challenged the party workers to renew their pledge to the party and work towards strengthening the party.

NCP youth wing president, Chonben Yanthan, also delivered a brief speech. The function was chaired by NCP general secretary, Munthen Newmai while the vote of thanks was proposed by NCP secretary, Alemla Jamir.

Meanwhile, NCP Wokha district also celebrated its 15th foundation day at its party office, near daily market complex, Wokha with MLAs Dr. T M Lotha and Mmhonlumo Kikon as special guests. 

Dr TM Lotha while addressing the party workers urged them to work to strengthen the party from village level onwards.

He also appealed the party workers to co-operate with the various developmental works of the government.

Mmhonlumo Kikon also appealed the party workers to work sincerely in all the four constituencies in order to streamline and uplift the district party in particular.

Both the NCP MLAs committed to work for the betterment of the people of Wokha district and assured of their full support for the construction of foothill road connecting via Wokha.

Further, NCP Wokha unit has vehemently condemned the “inhuman and barbaric crime” committed by Thomas alias Abemo, in the gruesome triple murder on the night of May 16 at Bor-Lengri, Assam. The unit has appealed the law enforcing authority to award befitting punishment to the accused.
