Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) Mokokchung branch was inaugurated on Thursday with BVP National Secretary Swadesh, Ranjan Goswami as chief guest and ADC Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal, as the guest of honour at MMC conference hall.
In his inaugural speech, the chief guest said BVP was established in the year 1963 as a service-cum-sanskar oriented, non-political, socio-cultural voluntary organisation.  Goswami said BVP was dedicated in its vision for the development and growth of the country in all fields of human endeavours– cultural, social, academic, moral, national and spiritual by promoting a sense of patriotism, national unity and integrity.
He said BVP believes in dedicated service to the poor and needy people not as an act of charity but in the true spirit of “our” cultural tradition of treating service as worship. Goswami said BVP has approximately 1250 branches with more than 1 lakh 10 thousand members, rendering services in the field of environment, education, health sector, relief work, free legal aid, assisting the differently-abled people, enhancing skills in the rural areas and many other such programmes to uplift the people to lead a dignified and honourable life. In his speech, ADC Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal, congratulated Bharat Vikas Parishad for establishing a branch in Mokokchung and expressed hope that people in Nagaland could develop through the organisation.
On behalf of the newly inaugurated BVP Mokokchung Branch, the chief guest gifted CURE foundation with a set of computer along with classrooms materials to assist the management in the care of the differently-abled people.
