Seminar on ‘constitutional rights on women’ at MITE

Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE) Kohima, women cell organised a seminar on “Constitutional Rights on Women” with private practitioner advocate, Gauhati High Court Kohima bench, Zheviholi Swu as speaker on Wednesday. 
A press note by MITE Kohima stated that in the seminar, Swu spoke on violation of human rights on women and children in Nagaland  and stressed on the problem and difficulties faced by them in the modern world. She highlighted on sexual harassment at workplace, domestic violence, cyber crime etc. and also spoke about the fundamental rights of women under the Constitution of India and Protection of women Act 2003. 
Swu further highlighted the non implementation of constitutional schemes for women and children and the procedures to avail the schemes and on how to register or file a complaint.
The programme was chaired by assistant professor MITE, Kavani Hekha, vote of thanks was delivered by Vesulu Chuzho and attended by all the student-teachers and the teaching staff.
