The Changki atrocity -

Since time immemorial Changkiri (Enrem) clan lived through all the years as one of the founding members of Changki Village. This empirical truth can be corroborated by the Dobashi Court judgement pronounced on 6th June 1964 and ADC (J) court order of 2006. It was in 1964 that unfounded allegation arise. The ancestral founding forefather Keling was not the name of anyone from Changkiri (Enrem) clan. Since the village authority (Putu Menden) could not settle the issue, the Dobashis of Mokokchung came to Changki Village and heard both the parties on 4th and 5th June 1964 and delivered the judgment on 6th June 1964 and ruled that Changkiri (Enrem) is also one of the founding members of Changki Village. Unlike any other universities in the country, it is a well known fact that Nagaland University is famous for agitation. It does not allow its atmosphere to remain peaceful even for a year. One is filled with a deep-rooted sense of indignation and helpless rage when crude brutes in the guise of uniform run amok pummeling and bludgeoning everything and anything that comes their way.
The Dr. Jamedi Long-kumer that I and many others who know him is a gentle, modest, refined and a very busy young man, A highly acclaimed intellectual (Gold Medalist MA, NEHU) and awarded Phd. NEHU) in Philosophy at the age of 28, the youngest among Nagas to have achieved such a degree and which many of our so called VVIPs put together can never dream of ever attaining in this lifetime or the next. Ineffective State budget and implementing system -
The state budget is one year programs of the people for the development activities. Any negative budget is culmi-nation of mismanagement in the receipt and expenditures of both revenue and capital fund-ing. We are aware that even the deficit budget is meaningful if the targeted program of the year is achieved adequately. Those sensible people of our state are surprised to note that the currant year deficit of Rs. 425.77 crore is the biggest amount in the history of the past forty five years budget of statehood, which is in the backdrop of waving of Rs. 367 Crores deficit during 2003 -2004 through the act of generosity of the then NDA Government. As a result our state will have no opportunity such a financial relief from Delhi during the coming years.

Doubts over fairness in Power Deptt. exams -
In response to the recent controversy regarding the Power department examinations conducted on 15th March 2008 there were some allegations and counter allegations made by the candidates, the selected candidates and the Power department. As a genuine candidate I would like to state a few point regarding the actual facts on the examination day. My observations are for the LDA exams only.
1. When I went to the examination centre as shown in the admit card I was surprised to find that my roll number was not there. I inquired from a friend and

Unwarranted incidents by police escort -

First of all, let me share the grief of our lecturer Dr. Jamedi, who was roughed up for no fault of his. Pondering over the incident, on might see that this is not the very first VIP carcade mess. It had happened before and is surely going to happen again if we do not take it seriously. This time it was a lecturer, the next time could be a student. We definitely need action this time, not just mere condemnations. This is the zenith of our sufferings.
The need of the hour is to remind those VIPs siting in AC cars that they are for us and we are not for

He was manhandled by Akhalu and group on 16th April'08. Akhalu's claim on saving him (Obed) from the hands of his party on many occasions is nothing but pseudo.

NSCN unification flays NSCN (IM) -

The NSCN/GPRN strongly condemns the unprovoked attack upon its members by Hebron campers in two occasions at Dimapur on April 17, 2008.

Unification is the common interest of all Nagas. There is no denying of the Nagas not wanting for unity, the only hitch was the process that went wry. NSCN's Collective Leader-ship responded with prayer and fasting, and thus, the historic proclamation was declared on January 13, 2007, on unity through recon-ciliation.
NSCN still stands by this proclamation, and tied its hands not to go for offensive to keep intact the spirit of the proclamation despite repeated act

Naga unification process takes shape -
The long aspired dream and initiative for reconciliation, peace and unification of the Nagas has taken its form since the 23rd November, 2007. This realism at any rate undoubtedly remains unquestionable across any course of political developments.
Whereas, the issue of reconciliation, erroneously developed in the mind of the anti-Naga elements have irrationally dismembered the Naga history and the essence of Naga sovereignty. Such hypocritical and selfish policy does not up-date itself with modern politics. The so-called reconciliation is but an old rag which

Identity, insurgency and development: The Naga case -
The Naga struggle for sovereignty has been the first and longest of the secessionist turned insurgency movements in South Asia which had posed the foremost challenge to the nascent Indian nation-state. At the core of the Nagas self assertion was the question of its identity. Nagas defined themselves as a separate nation as opposed to the Indian nation and demanded the right to self-determi-nation. When it was not granted to them, they appropriated the politics of secessionism to achieve the goal of Naga nation-state

Towards Naga reconciliation -
Nagas are struggling under the shadow of suspicion and fear. Unless all factions of the underground Nagas are united and reconciled there in no hope of a peaceful political settlement. Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) has been working towards this goal in the recent past and the answer comes from a group of underground for concerted effort to achieve our desired goal.
This is the appropriate time to support this great venture if we really desire honorable, acceptable and negotiated political settlement. There will be no perfect peace even if we wait for another 100 years. So denial of this move is suicidal.

Nagas, like any race of the world has its own distinct culture myths, ethos, etc. The uniqueness of Naga history is recognized but not read, discovered yet not dissected. The Nagas are saturated with the appeals of peace from all angles but without fruition. Our situation is too stagnant and all are fed up. Nagaland is now fit to be called Babel-land and Nagaland for Christ is Nagaland for slaves.
