For the first time in the history of Mokokchung Town Baptist Church (MTBA) and second time for Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM), the 'Christian Ministries License' was commissioned to Daniel Longkumer a missionary working in Laos and a bachelor. According to conventional concept, Christian Ministries License was normally given to people who have being married and on attaining the license a person was formally authorized to perform baptism, Holy Communion and conduct marriages. But, due to circumstances and under special consideration, the license was commissioned to Daniel Longkumer Sunday at the MTBA church. A special service was conducted and was followed by the ABAM formally handing over the license to Daniel.
Daniel Longkumer after accepting the certificate said that he felt the ominous task more upon him adding that through the license, he could go on spreading the kingdom of God. He called upon all the believers to uphold him and his team in prayer and expressed gratitude to God for using him as His servant.
Daniel Longkumer, 28 years of age son of Katemmeren Longkumer of Mopungchuket village who is also a missionary from Mokokchung is a graduate from Patkai Christian College. He completed his Master of Divinity from Southern Asia Bible College Bangalore. After his completion of M. Div. he had a short tint of mission work in partnership with Rev. Joseph Gordon based in Mussoorie Uttaranchal. Later he had calling for his mission to work in Laos the only landlocked country in Asia surrounded by Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Myanmar and Thailand. In January 28, 2007, Nagaland Missionary Movement (NMM) commissioned Daniel Longkumer to work in Laos and continued to serve as missionary till attaining the license.
