Youth pledge to abstain from drugs

With the purpose of protecting the youth from substance abuse and HIV/AIDS and to promote and project them as transparent and sincere leaders of the society, Peace Channel movement was officially flagged off in Livingstone Hr. Sc. School Dimapur on August 7.
Arthur, Managing Director and Administrator of Livingstone Hr. Sc. School was the Chief Guest. In his inaugural speech he stated that Peace lies in ones heart and it was the work of conscience and reward of love and today society has lost values of tradition. According to him, "where there is love and respect, we experience peace. And this peace brings success, joy, growth and development in our life and the society." He also exhorted the students to be aware of the destroyer of peace, ie, the Devil.
He also appreciated the dynamic initiative taken by Rev. Fr. C. P. Anto, Director of Peace Channel in the transitory period and encouraged the students to join hands together to build peace in the society.
Rev. Fr. C. P. Anto, in his message thanked the school authorities and encouraged the students to persevere in their ardent desire to be a peace lover, maker and initiator. He exhorted them to set a goal in their life to achieve their dream. Every member of the Peace Channel is called to be peace builder at home, school and in the society. The motto of the movement is to be a channel of peace where ever they are. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Animesh, with a prayer led by Kumsutoli and the gathering was welcomed by Pauly Varghese, the Co-coordinator of peace club in the school.
