Tuophema students felicitated

First felicitation programme for successful candidates of HSLC and HSSLC of Tuophema students comprising Tuophema Village Students' Union, Botsa Village Students' Union, Razhaphe Village Students Union and Dimapur was held on Saturday at Ura Academy Hall, Kohima.
Speaking at the occasion as chief guest Thepfuneituo Rio, DMC member urged the students to set good examples to the society as education alone could not make a person refined and further encouraged the students to share wisdom and knowledge to the society.
Thepfuneituo also asked the student community to take part in various activities and to work in unity and harmony, adding "a union or village remains strong only when people are in unity". He said unity should be the identity of the Tuophema people.
Altogether 37 HSLC candidates and 20 HSSLC students were felicitated.
The essential aim of organizing the programme was to bring the scattered people of Tuophema together under one common platform, and to help the students in education, social and cultural fields. The programme was attended by members of the Northern Angami Students' Union, Village chairmen, women chairperson and youth presidents from Tuophema, Botsa, Razaphe villages, and other well wishers.
Highlights of the programme included selection of Miss and Mr Fresher which was bagged by Ketholenuo Kense and Khriezelhou Seyie respectively. Presidential address was delivered by Vizhalie Sanchu, president TVSU, speech on behalf of seniors by Dr. Keneinguzo Zumu, speech on behalf of fresher by Khriezelhou Seyie, songs by Neingutuoü Seyie and the RVSU, welcome address by Viruokuo Zumu, vote of thanks by Khriebu Seyie, president BVSU. The programme was chaired by Kechangulie Kense, advisor BVSU.
