Dr. Rhetso passes away

Former president of Nagaland State BJP and social worker, Dr. N Rhetso, passed away Sunday morning at AIIMS, New Delhi, following a cardiac arrest.
Born on March 1, 1946, Dr. Rhetso joined Nagaland Government service in 1972 but resigned five years later.
He entered politics and contested the State assembly elections in 1982 and 1987 and later the Lok Sabha Elections in 1999.
He joined the BJP in the year 1991 and worked as general secretary (Org) cum treasurer till 1997. He was elected as the State unit president of BJP in the year 1997 and he served the Party in that capacity for six years. He was also awarded the International Millenium Goldstar award.
Meanwhile, the funeral service of late Dr. Rhetso will be held Tuesday at Viswema village at 1 p.m.

Rajnath, State BJP condole
BJP national president Rajnath Singh, Nagaland State BJP and others have condoled the demise of Dr. N Rhetso.  General secretary (Org) BJP Nagaland, Avinash Kohli in a press release conveyed Rajnath Singh’s condolence and said the latter “extend his deepest condolence to the bereaved family.”
The State BJP in a press release issued by president Ato Yepthomi and general secretary (Org) Avinash Kohli termed Rhetso as a “guiding force behind many programmes and policies of the BJP Nagaland in particular and North Eastern States and the mainland in general.”
The State BJP, which held a condolence meeting Sunday afternoon at its office at Kuda Guest House, also requested all party members to receive the mortal remains of Late Rhetso.
Media Cell secretary, Nagaland BJP, Sandeep Sharma in a condolence message said Media Cell convenor, BJP Nagaland, Imkong Imchen on behalf of the State BJP, also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members of late Dr. Rhetso. 
State BJYM in a condolence message issued by its president James Vizo and general secretary Chumbemo Ezung also expressed grief over the untimely demise of Dr. Rhetso. Meanwhile, parliamentary secretary for Geology & Mining, I&FC, Y Patton has also condoled the demise of Dr. Rhetso. Patton described late Dr. Rhetso as “an able dedicated party worker and a man of integrity.”
Zonal organizing secretary, BJP NE States, P Chandrashekhar has also, on behalf of North East BJP, condoled the demise of the State BJP leader.
