The Dilong Ward Executive Committee (Yimden) in its bid to rid the ward from anti-social elements has today sealed three shops which were used allegedly for selling liquor at the Daily Bazar which falls under the jurisdiction of the ward. This is the second time that these shops were locked by the Yimden for the same offence.
The particular area which was sealed today has notoriously earned its name “Eros Lane” for their alleged business of selling liquor. Further, the action of the Yimden has been justified by the countless complaints received by the Yimden from public in many occasions. Subsequently, the Yimden earlier last week, raided the shops and were caught red handed for selling liquor and were later tried on Monday night at the Yimden court. All the owners of the shops were imposed a fine of one pig each after making them sign on a statement that they will never sell liquor again. The final decision of the Yimden was the sealing of the shops today.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Dilong Yimden Shri Pangjung Walling has added that the actions of the Yimden today are not the end. The Yimden will endeavor to cleanse the ward of all these anti-social practices in the future too and that the Yimden would be conducting surprise checking time and again. He further cautioned that defaulters will not be excused but that they would be tried according to the constitution of the Yimden.
