Poor electricity hits Tuensang

 Irregularity of electricity has badly affected general public in various villages under Tuensang district.
It was reported that, poor power supply has affected 16 villages under Changsang Range, Chingmai Range, Sangyucheng Range and Noksen Area under Tuensang district.
The 16 villages included, Toknyu, Yempang, Waoshu, Chengmai, C/Saddle, Keyok, Sangsangyu, Maksha, Nyenyem, Sangchen, Saoshou, Mongcheng, Nokshon, Bhumak, Sangdak and Noksen village.
According to report reaching here 16 villages were reeled under darkness for more than four to five years. The citizens alleged the government had remained mute spectator despite repeated appeals made to fulfill its “long pending” demand.
The citizens also lambasted the EE’s (Elect) for the department failure to abide the policy of ‘peaceful functioning’ by immediately reserving the poor electricity to the effected village.
Taking strong exception to the EE’s attitude earlier, the general public and various organizations had purportedly alleged that several complaints with the authorities and demanded the government to inquire into the ‘slumber’ electricity.
The general public of the areas had also questioned the government as to why it was not initiating any action against the poor supply of electricity.
Sangsangyu Student’s Union Ampung Chang, alleged that the executive engineer electrical for dereliction of his duty towards the public and cautioned that they would no longer tolerate such step-motherly treatment being meted out to the citizens of the far-flung areas by the government.
