Expressing happiness with the launching of the education grid, Minister for Education Dr. Shurhozelie has said Nagaland University would no longer be a campus-based university since the students would now have access to the resources of many other premier institutes in the country.
“In view of the globalization and the emergence of knowledge-based economy, I see this as a beginning of many more inevitable collaboration and partnership both at the national and international level,” said Shurhozelie here at the School of Engineering Sciences & Technology and School of Management Studies, Nagaland University. Shurhozelie who was the guest of the event, also said that since knowledge was presently considered not only as a means of enlightenment but, more importantly, as capital for development, the education system must keep pace with global competitions.
“We can be assured of our rightful place in the global competition only if our education system produces world class trained human resources,” he added.
The minister further said the mission of NU and IIITM-Kerala would remain incomplete until the education grid was able to take education to all those who have the potential or desire to earn.
