DAN’s pre-electoral pledge waited

MLA Dr. Nicky Kire conducted three-day tour of Nagaland People's Front (NPF) 9th Kohima Town A/C to thank the electorate and to learn of various problems facing respective colonies.
James Liezietsu, president and Hukato, AGS, NPF 9 A/C in a release said people from all walks of life, socio-economic status, tribal affiliations, etc of the constituency raised a concerted voice in pleading for immediate improvement of roads and drainage systems, shortage of water supply, need for more dispensaries and government schools, need for an effective and responsive KMC, mini-markets and marketing sheds, Fair Price Shops, police beat post, street lights and dealing with the menace of traffic jams.
Pointing out the pre-electoral promise made by CM Neiphiu Rio that, should the electorate respond positively, the leader from the constituency would be adequately equipped to address the needs of the capital town, the electorate of the constituency has delivered second highest victory margin, next to his own, which now awaits the fulfillment of the promise and further expressed hope that the chief minister would honour his pledge.
Strong opinions were also expressed in favor of the need for the MLA to have a major say in the issue of party tickets to future aspirants of Kohima Municipal Council, and issue of work orders to contractor in Kohima.
Dr. Nicky Kire, despite the limitations of being an MLA, assured of spare no effort in meeting the genuine needs of the people and highlighted his efforts in addressing the varied problems and positive assurances received from ministers and parliamentary secretaries.
The Nagaland People's Front (NPF) 9th Kohima Town A/C has also expressed gratitude for support of the public, elders and leaders of various colonies during the three-day tour of the constituency by the MLA.
