Rotaract Club attains chartered status

Rotaract Club of Chumukedima, sponsored by the Rotary club of Dimapur attained its full fledged chartered status as they observed the 1st installation and charter ceremony cum office inauguration on August 23rd at old CTC office building, Chumukedima town. The meeting chaired by Christina, executive board member was called to order by Rtn. Sonjay Sarkar, the present president of the Rotary club, Dimapur. During the programme, Rtn O.P Gupta, Dimapur speaking on the topic, 'Rotaract movement along with Rotary', emphasized on the need to maintain close coordination between the two family entities. Rtn R.S Panesar, Dimapur, also shared experiences of how the Chumukedima club during his tenure four months back had developed the concept of Rotaract, and finally dreams were made to reality today. Few bio-data profile of Rotaract president, Rtr Ren James was read out by Rtr Vikhemie, Chumukedima followed by the handing over of official collar, hammer and charter certificate to the president by Rotary president. Labeling of the club members was pronounced by both Rotary president and Rotaract president, Dimapur. Speaking on the 1st Installation and charter ceremony cum office inauguration, Rtr Ren James, president, Chumukedima lauded R.S Panesar for playing a crucial role in creating the club and added that everyone has 'an obligation to make a change in the society for better', and promised to serve social cause to fulfill humanitarian need, besides 'attempting to be useful to the society.' While congratulating the new Rotaract club members, Rtn Sanjoy Sarkar, president, Dimapur assured them of constant guidance from the parent body. Expressing gratitude to the parent body for laying the foundation of its world-wide charitable known project at Chumukedima town, Neichu Koutsou chairperson, Chumukedima Town Council said Rotaract club of Chumukedima has stepped a mile ahead in its endeavour to serve humanity. Other officials who spoke on the occasion included president Rtr Abhijit, Rotaract club, Dimapur, Rtr Asen Jamir, IPDRR, Rotaract club, Dimapur, Rtr Vijay Sharma, DRRe, Rotaract club, Dimapur, Gavin Kelly, principal, St.Gabriel School, Chumukedima. Highlights of the programme included national anthem, invocation by pastor Lokishe, Sumi Baptist Church Chumukedima and special number by Ganesh. Benediction was pronounced by pastor and Rtr Sazo Kire, Town Baptist Church and meeting adjourned by Rtr Ren James, president, Chumukedima. Latter, office ribbon was cut by senior Rtn Surendra Anand and the bulletin 'The Touch' was launched by Annie. The event was observed by about hundred participants including members of the Parent body, Rotary club of Dimapur, Rotaract club of Dimapur, besides several organization's body, church leaders, school administrations, etc.
