‘Netaji Rath’, organized by the Central committee of the “Azad Hind Volunteers” (AHV) will pass through the state’s hilly terrain on August 26 where a goodwill reception has been arranged by the Angami Students’ Union (ASU) at TCP gate point Kohima. The ‘Rath’ starting from Moirang in Manipur with its destination Delhi has the objective of urging the Union Government to table the Mukherjee Commission Report in the Parliament for discussion. AHV claims that there was no plane crash in 1945 at Taihoku and that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose did not die in any plane crash. It therefore maintained that the so-called ashes of Renkoli Temple in Japan have no connection with Netaji. The AHV is demanding the Government of India to declare that the ashes are not of Netaji’s. Meanwhile, the ASU has requested denizens of Kohima and every concerned individual to attend the reception programme. ASU president, Kelhouneizo Yhome has extended a wholehearted welcome to the volunteers and wished them a grand success in their endeavor. (Correspondent)
