Nagaland Christian Forum (NCF), in strongest terms has condemned the large-scale violence and “indespicable crimes” meted out to the Christians in Orissa by “Hindu fanatics”. “The Christians in Nagaland are saddened to hear and witness our brethren in Orissa being innocently tortured and rendered homeless” said a condemnation note from the NCF jointly issued by its president, Rev. Zhabu Terhüja and secretary, Fr. George Keduolhou. It expressed solidarity with the suffering Christians who are the victims of violence propagated by the VHP Hindu extremists. The NCF informed that as a mark protest against the violence Christians in Nagaland in a Christian spirit would observe September 7 as a day of prayer for the Christians in Orissa. It requested Reverends, Clergy, Pastors, Associate Pastors, and various Church ministries to spread the information in their respective Churches. The Forum wished that the Church Bell be rung on September 7 Sunday at 5.00 a.m to mark the day and remind the Church faithful of the significance of the day.
