Alumnus of Nagaland University has expressed deep concern with the ongoing crisis in Nagaland University. A joint statement issued by former presidents of PGSU, NU Menuosietuo Tseikha, Richard Dzuvichu , Ruokuosietuo Angami, Mezhulhou Suokhrie , Talisunep, and PGSU, NU former finance secretary John Zarench, have strongly condemned the illegal action of vice chancellor Prof K Kannan in serving suspension orders against the Nagaland University Teachers Association(NUTA) leaders with no valid reason whatsoever. The statement stated "It is highly questionable and illegal on the part of the vice chancellor, who himself is still under scanner as the report and the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) observations have not reached the President of India till date. As students who have supported the cause of justice and transparency in the University and willingly joined and protested against the corruption during Prof. G.D Sharma's tenure" While expressing shock by the antics of the present vice chancellor former PGSU office bearers has strongly demanded the immediate unconditional revocation of illegal suspension orders and extended full support to teachers and the Post Graduate Student's Union of Nagaland University " in cleansing the University" in bringing long awaited justice.
