Interview for RANK & BOLT awards held

Interview for 'Race for Awareness and Knowledge & Broad Outlook Learner Teacher Awards' (RANK & BOLT) 2008-2009 was held at Hotel Saramati, Conference hall Sunday. The focal points of this project are students and teachers to acquaint with excellence outside the field of academics and to promote the concept of "Towards Responsible & Active Citizenship" and "Preserving a Crumbling Environment". The awards are being offered at the 'state level' and 'district level' for both teachers and students. The 'district winner' with the highest aggregate is announced as the 'state winner' and the individual scoring the second highest total is the 'state runners-up'. All 'state winners' are then invited to bid for the 'national awards' by submitting a fresh award form. Both the RANK & BOLT 'state award winners' will be taken to Singapore so that they can interact with the teaching and students community of Singapore. Judges who were engaged in the two-day process, interviewed the RANK & BOLT hopefuls, included Liremo Yanthan, SP, Dimapur, Ajay Sethi, M. D NIIT, Dimapur Centre, Moa Yaden, proprietor Bethany hostel, Dr. Aotoshi, Vety. Deptt Nagaland, Fr. P. C Anto, Director Youth Commission, Diocese of Nagaland and Peace Channel, K. V. Nurumi, Documentary producer, Haridhan Chowdhary, BSNL Franchisee, Dimapur, Kent Rengma, M. D., Naga Construction Company, Jaideep Dey, Executive Director, Symbios Creation, Rotarian Nungsang Aier, Social worker, Dimapur, Pushika Awomi ex- NSF president, P.K Bonick, chartered accountant and noted musician Theja Meru. The judging began Saturday for tabulation of form bids. After screening 66 students and 9 teachers were called for the viva voce Sunday. The results will be announced by Air India and Nagaland Post after compilation of the aggregate marks obtained in the written and oral tests.
