Pangyu graces Loyim soccer trophy

Parliamentary secretary for Rural Development and REPA, Pangnyu Phom, on Thursday stressed on the importance of sports and said sports was a great asset for every individual. Addressing the opening ceremony of the 16 Loyim Memorial Senior Soccer open championship as chief guest, Pangnyu said that sports not only plays a vital role in enlarging discipline among players but help in maintaining physical body. He further urged the participants to play with the right spirit of sportsmanship and challenged them to compete in the National and International level. Meanwhile, he also lauded the Confederation of Chang Students Union for organizing the championship. DC Tuensang, YL.Jami also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, 1st Assam Rifles Band followed by CCSU Anthem by the Chang Students Union of Sao Chang College accorded the chief guest. The invocation was said by Pastor Yimchunger Baptist Church while welcome Address was delivered by president CCSU. Special numbers were presented by Phom union Tuensang Town and CSUTT. Altogether, seven teams are participating in the championship. The opening match was played between Charlie X1 NAP and Freeland boys CSUTT.
