Naga Jawan laid to rest with Military Honours

Funeral of Sepoy Tatong Chiba being held with full military honours.

Mortal remains of Sepoy Tatong Chiba, who sacrificed his life for the pride of the Nation, valiantly fighting the terrorists on the Line of Control in J&K, was laid to rest in his native village, Khensa in Mokokchung district, on Friday with full Military honours. According to PRO Defence, Lt Col Nirupam Bhargava, the Naga soldier was recruited in the First Battalion of the Assam Regiment, and was always ‘highly’ sincere and dedicated. He fought the terrorists beyond the call of duty and thwarted all their evil designs, before being shot at. He later succumbed to his injuries, leaving a vacuum behind, and thus set a personal example of the highest degree of patriotism for all the citizens of the Nation. Lt Gen Rakesh Kumar Loomba, GOC 3 Corps and Maj Gen Jaiprakash Nehra, IGAR (N) prayed to the Almighty to give all the strength to the bereaved family and to the entire state of Nagaland to bear this irreparable loss and for the departed soul to rest in peace.
