Elaborate security arrangements have been made for BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Lal Krishna Advani's visit to the state tomorrow even as police continued to interrogate Mominul Haque who had sent an email in the name of Indian Mujahhidin threatening to eliminate Advani during his Shillong visit. Chief Minister, Donkupar Roy has asked the state police to ensure full-proof security cover for the top-most BJP leader.A team of National Security Guard which landed in Shillong assessed the security scenario with the state police officials and other central agencies. "Security measures are being evaluated on an hour-to-hour basis. We don't want to take any chances after an e-mail threat to kill him," State Director General of Police, B K Dey Sawian said. Security agencies here says no inputs can be taken lightly especially after the national capital, again hit by a bomb blast. "The route which Advani will drive in and around the state has been sanitized and several areas have been sealed off for the general public," the official said. Advani is scheduled to address a public rally in Shillong as part of his ' Vijay Sankalpa Yatra'. He is also scheduled to meet religious leaders of various faiths, including Christians and Muslims. On Wednesday night, two local dailies received an e-mail from a 'Field Commander-North East of Indian Mujahideen Ali Hussian Badr' threatening to kill the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate, during his visit to Shillong. However, the next day, police arrested Mominul Haque, a third-year law student after he confessed to have posted the death threat e-mail in the name of Ali Hussian Badr. "We are in the process of drawing his (Haque) confessions and to find out if he has any links with the Indian Mujahideen or any jihadi groups," State Director General of Police, B K Dey Sawian said. Haque, a law student and tech-savvy, comes from a middle class family, but has traveled abroad on several occasions, apart from visiting many other states in the country. "Haque has traveled to Dubai, Bangladesh Bahrain and other middle east countries on several occasions although he hails from a middle class family," intelligence officials said. Police also have seized his passport and other incriminating documents from his residence at Laban, Howell road. Not just traveling abroad, but the security agencies found that Haque made several calls to United States, Africa and other countries.
