Denizens in and around Old West P.S.and Duncan-Circular Road junction were shocked by the sight of unidentified gunmen chasing a person for about fifty yards then shooting him dead near Telephone distribution box at Tinali-, Duncan Bosti junction Sunday at around 10.30 a.m. Police later identified the deceased as one Tokheho Aye (33) of NSCN (K), son of Hoito Aye and a resident of Kuhuboto town under Niuland sub division. The deceased bore one bullet wound each on the right hip and on the right temple. Police also recovered 7 empty cases of AK 47 ammunition and one 9 mm empty case from the spot. The body was later handed over to the relatives after the police conducted the formalities. Meanwhile, GPRN/NSCN, deputy kilonser (defence) Akato Chophi said the deceased was his nephew while condemning the killing. Talking to Nagaland Post over phone, Chophi said the victim was involved with Youth with a Mission in South India. Terming the killing as “unbecoming”, the deputy kilonser said Nagas were bound to be wiped out if such killings continued. A single parent, whose wife predeceased him recently, Tokheho is survived by a two year old son. Late Tokheho was also the son-in-law of the first president of Dimapur Naga Students’ Union, Ghoshito Assumi.
