Nagaland (u-17) through to pre- quarterfinals

State under-17 (juniors), Friday has secured pre-quarterfinals berth after a goalless draw against Assam in the ongoing Subroto Cup played at Delhi. This was informed by team manager, Nyuvitho Nyuthe through phone who is currently in Delhi. State team will now play their last match against Air Force team on September 6. After three matches Nagaland (under-17) team is leading the pool ‘D’ with seven points followed by Assam (5), Air Force team (4), Uttarakhand (4) and Tripura (1). Earlier, the state team was scheduled to play their opening match against Sri Lanka on September 2, but the match was postponed as the Lankan team did not turned up for the match. Which means Nagaland (u-17) have qualified for the pre-quarterfinals place with one match to go against Air Force team. Pre-quarterfinals round will start from September 9. Earlier, state team has defeated Tripura 4-0 in the opening match and Uttarakhand 2-1. Meanwhile, state under-14 (Sub juniors) will play their opening match on September 10.
