Perturbed over the banning of Sumi Hoho by the NSCN (I-M), the Angami Public Organisation (APO) has appealed for withdrawal of the ban and to allow good sense to prevail among the Nagas. APO in a joint press statement issued by its president, Mhiesizokho Zinyu and press secretary, Kekhriengulie Linyu articulated on the concept of oneness which has been handed down to Nagas. “To leave out any single tribe is to deny ourselves from becoming whole and a united people” it said. The APO said that tribal hohos being manned by fallible humans could not claim perfection but at the same time did not make them lose the importance of representing the tribes. In view of this, the APO felt it was “not proper to ban any Naga tribe hoho even when the hoho happens to be on the lighter side of the weighing scale”. It called for preservation of integrity and solidarity of the Naga people.
